9-5

Violence in video games is always a hot topic, but a new game is drawing more complaints than usual. Kuma Games has already introduced a first-person shooter where gamers can kill Osama Bin Laden.

Everybody celebrates in their own way. The Balistreri's celebrated Mother's Day with plastic guns and animated bloodshed.

"I don't know what I'm doing, but it's pretty fun," said Renae Balistreri, after playing a game of Time Crisis 4 with her son Michael.

It was a mother-son bonding experience that Balistreri says is just fun.

"I know the difference between a real weapon and a game. If you can keep it separated, yes, I don't have a desire to shoot randomly down the street.," said Balistreri

Family therapist Melody Brooke agrees, at least with that point.

"Not everybody who plays video games is going to become violent," said Brooke.

But Brooks says this Kuma War, Episode 107: The Death of Osama Bin Laden is a different story. In the game, you can play as a Navy Seal, and shoot Bin Laden.

"In a way, we're glamorizing this horrific person and I don't think that's a very good idea," said Brooke.

Brooke says we should be celebrating the end of Bin Laden's reign, not his death.

"Bin Laden has become a symbol. He's made himself a symbol for violence and terrorism. We want to get rid of that symbol, but the truth is, this is also a man, a human being," said Brook.

The Balistreri's say they like the idea of the game.

"I'd get any chance to shoot at Osama Bin Laden I could. I mean, if he was right here, I'd shoot at him. I hate that guy," said Michael Balistreri, Renae's son.

For Michael, it isn't about shooting Bin Laden the man, but what he represents.

"He killed thousands of people," said Michael Balistreri

Again, everybody celebrates in their own way
