Wozniacki makes winning return to Charleston

(CNN) -- World number one Caroline Wozniacki brushed aside thoughts of her injury woe at last year's tournament to reach the third round of the WTA event in Charleston.
The Dane was forced to retire during her semifinal against Russia's Vera Zvonareva when she hurt her ankle as she slid on the green clay court.
If affected her preparations for last year's French Open and she admitted that it played on her mind at the start of her match with American qualifier Irina Falconi.
"I thought about it today, especially where I rolled it (her ankle) last year," she told the official WTA website.

"The center court is so cozy and intimate. It makes me really enjoy being out there."
Wozniacki duly won 6-1 6-1 as she bids to add to her titles in Dubai and Indian Wells this year.
Second seed and defending champion Samantha Stosur was also a comfortable winner over Austrian Patricia Mayr-Achleitner 6-1 6-2 in their second round match.
The Australian said thoughts of her victory last year "puts a smile on your face," but fourth seed Marion Bartoli had little to be happy about as the Frenchwoman went out to 2009 Charleston winner Sabine Lisicki of Germany, 6-2 6-3.
World number eight Jelena Jankovic, the third seed and 2007 tournament winner, also went through, beating Austrian Tamira Paszek 6-2 6-3
